Pork & Tofu with Black Beans

It was the first time cooking with these beans but it turned out perfectly well. Just a handful of ingredients and I’m good to go. Healthy or nah, still a happy tummy 🙂

Food Thoughts: Pork is…pork. Yeah, you need to eat it in moderation but it’s still a good source of protein which our body needs. We need protein for our muscles. Interestingly, pork can also be a good source of B-vitamins as well as minerals like iron, zinc, selenium, niacin and phosphorus. These vitamins and minerals are beneficial to our bodily functions and maintenance. Tofu came all the way from ancient China which is bean curd from soya milk. This is a usual staple for people in a diet or are vegetarians because some say it can be a good replacement for meat for its good protein content. Tofu has iron, calcium and what’s best is it contains all the nine essential amino acids. Various research suggests that tofu can lower LDL levels or bad cholesterol and may reduce risks of breast cancer. Another source of protein are these Black Beans, along with fiber and other important minerals our body needs. Consuming these legumes may promote heart health and sturdy bones.
