Heal the World and Imagine

The world as we know it is currently facing such trying times, and as the saying goes: Heroes are not born, they are created by the circumstances around them. Hence, they rise to the occasion. We have countless of them today, unsung or not. First of all – Salute!

We have been existing long enough through generations of labels and divisions, and oft discriminate… forgetting that we should widen our perspective that after all, everyone eventually becomes affected sooner rather than later. In this world where so many forces larger than ourselves exist and (knock-on-wood) can emerge in the coming days, we are reminded that we are all in this together. And it’s frustrating that many people see crises or ominous events as catalysts to put aside their differences.

It is unarguably clear that this time, the pandemic presented an intangible connection amongst us. It knows no boundaries, mankind can all fall victim to a similar fate. Race, religion, language, education, or social status does not matter. No matter how hard we build a good life, something beyond our control will make it undone in a blink of an eye.

Humanity and kindness are paramount, pandemic or not. Let that lesson sink in.

I look on these dark clouds with a silver lining that someday soon, when scientists finally develop a cure, we are again free to roam and the world economy bounces back — that this lesson has been finally ingrained in our hearts and minds as we go on with our normal lives.

To remember that our differences are superficial…that having lots of money or social class does not make one superior…that it doesn’t make A race to make the world better or worse, but all races with the common goal for the good…that we will remember the heroes who risked their lives, to never look lightly on anyone again regardless of the job he/she does.

Let us look out for each other. The world would be a much better place because humanity will stand the coming time together.
